Long Sandstone Point
Long Sandstone Point

In a sheltered corner at the south end of Pirate's Cove lies a ridge of sandstone jutting out a great distance under the water. Presumably it was left there by the glaciers of distant times, lying as it does along the same line as the local islands and other ridges in the area. While it is warily watched by boats anchoring in the cove, it has a certain beauty when the tide drops, revealing a long line of interesting sandstone with all the life it holds and the white shell sand collected up around it.
