"Westbound from Revelstoke about 1950, a long freight heads for Eagle Pass. The leading locomotive, Selkirk 5908, will be with the train to Taft, where it will be turned to assist in the next eastbound train back over the pass to its base at Revelstoke. engine 548 ( now housed in the Revelstoke Railway Museum ) will carry on to Tappen where another helper engine will be coupled on for the climb over Notch Hill."
